Can any one point me in the right direction of how to configure IIS 4.0 to host multiple web sites (domains). Apparently it has something to do with HTTP 1.1 Headers?

Thanks

Russell Anderson

As I understand it, you have 2 options:

1. Multiple IP addresses for the machine - assign the IP for each web site on the 'Web Site' property sheet.
2. Single IP address for the machine - set the Host Header name from the 'Advanced' dialog on the 'Web Site' property sheet - requires that the client supports HTTP1.1

I may be wrong, but I don't think so...

Dunc

I think there are two solution for it.
1.Having multiple IPaddreses on the same machine with diferent Net work cards
2.Runnig different sites on the same IP with different ports.
This can be done by creating a new site and assigning an unused port

Better is one network card and multiple IPs. Then you can configure each virtual server with a specific IP address. If you have troughput problems, then having multiple network adapters could help.
